Introduction
Welcome to 3700AD, an exciting new space adventure! As you progress through the game, some of the missions and quests contained therein will help you learn the more advanced features of 3700AD. Here is a reference for those players who are just starting out and need some extra tips, or just want to see what else they could do.
What is it all about ?
You can:
1. Create or join powerful guilds and conquer planets
2. Be a merchant to explore the vastness of space & profit by trading
Simple walkthrough for beginners
STEP ONE:
As soon as you start out you should have some money and 50 personnel (half max capacity personnel.) Click on the system gate and travel to the Coos Bay system where you can get off to an easy start. When you get to Coos Bay, find a planet with 5 commercial bonus and dock with it. Once there, click on the "grow personnel" building and use turns to max out personnel. Once you have the full 100 you will be able to make an optimal income. To make your money, click on the commercial structure when you are finished growing your personnel. When the commercial building menu appears, proceed to use all the rest of your turns getting cash.
STEP ONE ALT:
As soon as you start out you should have some money and 50 personnel (half max capacity personnel.) Click on the system gate and travel to the SOL system, When you get to SOL system, dock with planet Earth.Once there, click on the "grow personnel" building and use turns to max out personnel. Once you have the full 100 you will be able to make an optimal income. This is where Step one changes. instead of going for commercial we are going to take the mining route. Head back to the jump gate and head over to green system and dock with a planet that has 5 mining. Now go to the mining building and use your turns mining.Once you have used all your turns head back over to Earth at the SOL system and dock up. Once there go to the black market and sell the mineral that you have mined.
STEP TWO:
Good job. At this point you've finished the first step. Next you'll need to make multiple captains. Instead of growing old waiting for the turns to regenerate on your main captain, you can fully take advantage of using your other 4 captain slots to optimize turn efficiency and, in the long run, income. To make a new captain, click on your current captain's name at the top of the screen. A window should appear with options on the left of the screen that read "Flagship, Captain, Relations." Click on the captain button and your current captains stats should appear. At the bottom left of the screen it should list your captain's name and some open slots for creating more captains. Proceed to create 4 more captains and do the same thing for them that you did for your first captain in step one.
STEP THREE:
As your money accumulates, you're going to want to increase your income capacity. To do this, you will need more personnel. Go to an item vendor on the planet surface. If the planet doesn't have one, go to a different planet in the system to find one. The item vendor building will be selling mods for your flagship that increase its parameters. Buy personnel mods for now and equip them in the flagship menu by going to your captain options that you accessed in step two via your captain name at the top of the screen. Once you equip the personnel mod in its correct place on the ship, you should be able to increase your personnel to an even higher max personnel limit for your captain through a personnel growth building. Once it is maxed out, go back to the commercial building from before and spend your turns on cash again. Soon enough you'll be able to afford mods for military or further economic use.
